My good friend Annie got married the last weekend in August so we spent the weekend in the NoVa area participating in wedding festivities. My friend Waverly made the little hat Helen Jeanette is modeling in the first 2 pictures!

I have always been a summer girl but since getting pregnant with Helen Jeanette I’ve found myself much more appreciative of cool spring mornings and crisp autumn days. I think it would take more then an extra 40 pounds or so to make me a winter person, but that day may come. Last year I don’t even remember being aware of the fall season since I was 100% immersed in life with a new born, but this year I’ve been very excited about fall. Chris is going to be traveling to Germany soon and will miss 2 weekends out of October in Durham so we decided to pack in a visit to our local pumpkin farm this afternoon. We didn’t quite get the beautiful pumpkin patch pictures I had hoped for but we had a good time and I’m happy with the pictures we got!
The pictures of her in her halloween dress were taken at the house the other day. My mom made this dress for one of my cousins and now it has been handed down to Helen Jeanette.
My Pampa took pictures today and they’re all on facebook as well. She had a great party with lots of family and friends. It was a bit chaotic and she was a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing but she took it in stride and kept smiling through the whole thing. She received a lot of presents and did not seem to understand the concept of opening them at all, but she happily went through her new toys giving each of them a shining 5 seconds of attention before turning to the next present. I decided the best route was not to linger on each present but to bulldoze through the rather large pile since everyone was gathered around standing to watch.
She also went to her first gymnastics class today and smiled from ear to ear the entire time. This girl loves to be around little ones!
Well this is very late since Helen Jeanette is about to be 11 months old, and she is only 4 days old in these pictures, but better late then never! I never got around to pick my favorites to be edited so when we set up our anniversary shoot I asked Jessica Crawford to go ahead and pick her favorites for editing. I can’t believe our big light-haired girl used to be so little and dark!
Here are some photos I owed the world!
Helen Jeanette and Oma Leni playing with Helen Jeanette’s new doll. She is all about dolls right now and is very sweet when she cuddles them.
In David playing with Auntie’s stuffed tiger. She’s still super into growling so any animal that growls is a lot of fun.
Wearing her special fourth of July dress that Oma made!
Brittany Christian got married! We had a really good time at the wedding, and they had a send off involving light sabers, so clearly it was a great evening!
